MEET TAYLOR

Owner + Lead Photographer/ Videographer at T. Rae Media

Credentials

I've been a professional photographer, videographer and journalist for nearly 15 years, but honestly, I've had a camera in my hands since I was a young girl. That early love of visual storytelling led me to where I am today.

My work has appeared on ABC, PBS and NBC affiliates, including KING 5 in Seattle.  I've earned some of the industry's highest honors, including two Peabody Awards, 12 Regional Emmy Awards and multiple awards from the National Press Photographers Association's Best of Photojournalism competition.

My approach

As a photographer, I specialize in working with natural light and true to life editing, though I'm always open to a creative challenge. I'm constantly scanning for the small moments that make great photos: the way someone laughs, how light hits at just the right angle, the unguarded expressions that happen between poses.

I love to get to know my clients before and during our shoot so we can bring your vision to life. My sessions are relaxed and fun. I want you to move around, laugh and be yourself. I'm an expert at putting people at ease in front of the camera. I know when to step in with gentle posing guidance and when to step back and let things unfold naturally.

For video work, I don't just capture footage. I tell stories. I know how to make people care and hold their attention. I understand pacing, emotion and how to turn raw footage into something compelling for your family, your brand or your story.

I'm comfortable working in different environments, whether that's urban settings, parks, mountains or more remote locations. And I love working in all kinds of weather — from gorgeous sunny days to moody, misty Pacific Northwest rain. We'll find what works for your shoot.

My love for Washington

I moved to Washington State from the Midwest almost 10 years ago, and I never left. I fell in love with the adventures here—hiking, kayaking, camping all over the state and discovering incredible locations for shoots.

I love sharing these places with clients, whether you're a visitor wanting to capture your Pacific Northwest experience or a local wanting photos in your favorite spots. â€‹

When we're shooting outdoors, I practice Leave No Trace principles to protect the places we love.

Why I do this

I experience the world through a lens, constantly looking for light, moments and stories. I love creating images and videos that move people — that capture something they'll want to revisit again and again.

When I'm not shooting, you'll find me hiking with my two dogs, doing yoga, binging TV shows or planning the next trip with my fiancé.
